Friends of Wakefield Village
Wakefield, RI
Summer 2006 and 2007

I returned to my hometown to work with an inter-generational group of about 80 residents to celebrate local agriculture by building fruit and vegetable puppets (2006) and celebrate our proximity to the beach with sea creature puppets (2007) for the town parade and block party. In 2006 we paraded to the amazing noises of the What Cheer? Brigade. In 2007 we were accompanied by the some of the (now disbanded, but never forgotten) Stick and Rag Village Orchestra. These parades both were built power-house-weekend-style (starting Friday evening and ending Sunday evening with the parade.)
