Performances

I write, build and perform clown acts, puppet shows, and performative lectures. Sometimes on my own, sometimes in collaboration with musicians, dancers, and other kinds of artists (and folks who don’t necessarily identify as artists.) My shows range from 10-minute quickie cabaret-style acts to full-length productions. I use suitcase theaters, contestorias, hand and rod puppets, masks, cardboard flats, and found objects to tell stories, both political and personal, absurd and scientific. I’ve toured my shows, via car, plane, train, and bicycle to stages, street corners, living rooms, libraries and store fronts up and down the east coast, and around Europe. I’ve also been commissioned to build shows by organizations and individuals, and enjoy the process of partnering with folks to turn their idea or information into a piece of clown/puppet theater, performed for the general public or target audiences.
